I cast on two socks all the time using magic loop. It’s really quit simple. I cast on half the stitches of the first sock. Then half the stitches of the second sock. Then fold the needle in half (making the loop) and cast on the remaining stitches of the second sock and then the remaining stitches of the first sock. This works for top down socks.
For toe up socks I use the turkish cast one and wrap the stitches for the first sock over the two needle ends. I then slide those stitches up and do the same for the second sock. Then I proceed to knit around the stitches.
I hope that helps.
